Job description
Arcadis is seeking an entry-level Geotechnical/Environmental Engineer to join their Resilience Environment team in Hoffman Estates, IL. The role involves working alongside Senior Scientists, Engineers, and Project Managers to support utility expansion, environmental assessment, and remediation projects. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, and will be comfortable with a dynamic workflow. This position requires both fieldwork and office-related tasks, with periodic travel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Environmental, Civil, or related engineering field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills
- Focus on health and safety
- Excellent teambuilding and organizational abilities
- A valid driver's license
Responsibilities
- Participate in field investigations, sampling activities, and construction oversight
- Provide program support for a diverse portfolio of projects
- Engage in effective communication with contractors, clients, technical teams, and other stakeholders
- Oversee operation and maintenance for remediation systems
- Conduct soil and groundwater investigations and sample collection
- Perform site characterization and feasibility studies
- Compile, evaluate, and ensure quality assurance/quality control of data
- Write reports and support permitting and cost estimating
- Coordinate with project managers and senior engineering staff
- Interpret and evaluate field and analytical data to prepare engineering parameters and permit applications
