Job description

Arcadis is seeking a highly motivated Lead Substation Electrical Engineer to join the Power Delivery & Renewable team in the USA. This senior technical position involves direct client interaction and project management, ensuring compliance with codes and standards. The role focuses on delivering substation electrical projects while coordinating with various engineering teams. The successful candidate will also mentor junior team members and engage in business development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience within Substation projects from 4kV up to 500kV
  • Ability to execute and deliver complete substation packages under minimal supervision
  • Experience with substation physical layouts, bus configurations, and all aspects of HV and EHV substation engineering
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SKM/ETAP, CDEGS/WinIGS, and other engineering software
  • Design experience adhering to National Electrical Code, National Electric Safety Code, and IEEE codes and standards

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering, detail design, studies, and delivery of substation physical electrical projects on transmission and distribution substations.
  • Independently perform engineering and detail design drawings, studies, and analysis.
  • Prepare bidding documents, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate closely with civil, structural, and high-voltage electrical engineers to develop complete design packages.
  • Act as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, and Technical Lead to support business growth.
  • Mentor junior members of the team and conduct quality assurance/quality control on their work.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and vendors to support business development.
