Job description

Arcadis is seeking a Structural Engineer in Tennessee to support the design and delivery of bridge and structural infrastructure projects. The role involves working on new construction, inspection, rehabilitation, and repair of transportation structures. As a key technical contributor, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support project delivery from concept through construction. This position offers an opportunity to mentor junior engineers and coordinate across various engineering disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Minimum of 7 years of structural or bridge engineering experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee or ability to obtain it within 6–12 months
  • Strong experience in structural analysis and design
  • Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
  • Experience with Bentley software suite, including OpenBridge and MicroStation
  • Proficiency with structural analysis tools such as Midas or similar
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant design codes

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a design engineer for bridges and transportation structures, including new design, inspection, rehabilitation, and repair
  • Lead, assign, and review work while providing technical guidance to team members
  • Develop engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Evaluate engineering alternatives and apply sound judgment in design decisions
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle
  • Prepare and present technical reports, documentation, and design deliverables
  • Perform structural analysis and design with increasing complexity under senior review
  • Provide mentorship and oversight to junior structural engineers on small to mid-sized projects
  • Coordinate across disciplines to ensure integrated solutions
