Job description

Arcadis is seeking a Junior Level Transportation Design Engineer to join their team in Nashville, TN. This role offers the opportunity to be mentored by technical experts in transportation design while working on a variety of projects. The engineer will assist in preparing roadway design plans, engineering reports, and analyses in traffic operations and safety. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
  • 3-4 years of experience in transportation design
  • Basic understanding of geometric and traffic operations principles including AASHTO, MUTCD, and state DOT requirements
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • EIT Certification is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare conceptual designs and construction plans utilizing OpenRoads design software
  • Create engineering designs including geometric design of highways and streets and drainage design
  • Complete transportation planning reports and roadway safety studies
  • Develop general traffic engineering projects
  • Complete Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control (EPSC) plans
  • Use various software platforms including Microstation and OpenRoads
