Job description

As a Roadway Design Engineer at Arcadis, you will be part of a global team dedicated to delivering sustainable design and engineering solutions for roadway infrastructure projects. Your role will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create innovative mobility solutions for clients, including DOT and municipal organizations. You will be responsible for the planning and design of various roadway elements such as intersections and expressways. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Minimum of 6 years of roadway design experience, including DOT projects.
  • PE licensure with the ability to obtain KY PE licensure within 6 months.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly MicroStation and OpenRoads.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in defining project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables for roadway design projects.
  • Perform roadway design for various project types using DOT standards and CAD tools.
  • Develop detailed construction drawings, specifications, and design reports.
  • Conduct geometric design including alignments, cross sections, and pavement design.
  • Ensure compliance with Arcadis practices, client policies, and industry standards through quality control and technical reviews.
  • Support project managers with client coordination, progress monitoring, and project documentation.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate design solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate design components.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and interns.
