Job description

Arcadis is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) System Design Engineer to join the Resilience Water team in Ohio or Detroit. This role focuses on leading projects related to I&C, automation system design, and SCADA integration for various clients in environmental remediation and water treatment. The selected candidate will work closely with other engineers to produce design documents and ensure successful project execution. This position offers an opportunity to mentor junior engineers and contribute to sustainable solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or a closely related field of study
  • 5+ years of I&C, Automation, and SCADA system design and implementation experience in the water/wastewater market
  • EIT/Professional Engineer license
  • Basic knowledge of Autocad and Revit
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel (25%)

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering and design services to produce design and construction documents for projects.
  • Coordinate with process, mechanical, and electrical engineers assigned to the project.
  • Prepare technical memorandums and develop design criteria, SCADA system architecture, and process control functional narratives.
  • Lead all facets of project management, including budgeting, planning, cost estimating, design, and execution of SCADA and instrumentation systems.
  • Conduct factory testing, site acceptance testing, field checkout, and startup of I&C and SCADA systems.
  • Program process control logic in PLCs and configure graphical HMI for SCADA systems.
  • Produce effective and accurate written specifications for implementing I&C and SCADA projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers.
