The role involves engineering design for roadway drainage and design-build projects across the southeast. The team focuses on improving quality of life through sustainable design and consultancy solutions. The position requires collaboration with project managers, ecologists, and roadway engineers. The engineer will also direct junior engineers and utilize various design software to prepare construction plans.
Requirements
- 7+ years of drainage design and project management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Basic understanding of FEMA floodplain regulations
- Knowledge of stormwater design including open channel conveyance and closed drainage systems
- Good communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Assist in all aspects of roadway drainage design including bridge hydraulic studies and culvert design
- Prepare construction plans and project displays
- Prepare cost estimates, reports, and technical memos
- Utilize various design software including MicroStation, Inroads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Coordinate with project managers, ecologists, and roadway engineers
- Direct junior engineer’s design activities
