Job description

As a Staff Civil Engineer at Arcadis, you will support complex site development, reclamation, and restoration projects across North America. The role involves engaging in all levels of project delivery from conceptual planning through design and construction. You will work primarily in an office setting with opportunities for project-related travel. Your contributions will help improve quality of life through sustainable engineering solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI).
  • Proficiency with 3D civil site design using computer-based modeling applications such as AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software like HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, or SWMM.

Responsibilities

  • Develop civil engineering designs in collaboration with project managers and team members.
  • Analyze documentation including technical reports, maps, and drawings to support civil design development.
  • Review applicable regulations, permitting requirements, and standards.
  • Use 3D design software to develop grading plans and perform drainage layouts.
  • Oversee drawing production and assist with drafting if required.
  • Provide office-based construction support including contractor assistance and technical submittal review.
  • Prepare technical reports and specifications related to stormwater management and erosion control.
  • Mentor and delegate tasks to junior team members.
