Job description
The Wastewater Design Principal Engineer will join Arcadis' Resilience Water team, focusing on water and wastewater treatment design and construction engineering activities. This role involves managing design teams, mentoring junior engineers, and supporting offices in Paramus, NJ and Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate will utilize their expertise to lead projects and engage with clients while addressing complex challenges related to water resources. The position emphasizes collaboration and the delivery of sustainable solutions for the environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
- 10 years of related industry experience in the water/wastewater field.
- PE License in New Jersey and/or in other nearby states or ability to obtain NJ PE within 6 months.
- 15+ years of industry-related experience is preferred.
- Experience preparing plans and specifications conforming to Construction Specification Institute MasterFormat is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in client development activities for water/wastewater design projects.
- Manage project scopes and fee estimates to ensure profitable delivery.
- Oversee the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater treatment plants and related facilities.
- Create construction documents and specifications while ensuring compliance with permitting requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Work directly with clients to determine their needs and provide tailored solutions.
