Job description

Arcadis is seeking an entry-level Environmental Engineer to join their Resilience Environment team in Syracuse, NY, starting in June 2026. The role focuses on supporting environmental assessment and remediation projects, particularly in emerging contaminants. Candidates will work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to improving quality of life through sustainable solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • EIT Certification is preferred.
  • Master of Science degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training is preferred.
  • Experience with engineering software tools such as AutoCAD and ArcGIS is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers and Task Managers with planning and performing environmental site characterization and remediation tasks.
  • Engage in civil/environmental engineering design including land development planning and hydraulic modeling.
  • Prepare technical specifications and construction cost evaluations.
  • Perform fieldwork focusing on health and safety, including sampling and geotechnical investigations.
  • Write and prepare technical reports, work plans, and regulatory file reviews.
  • Interpret and evaluate field and analytical data to prepare engineering designs and permit applications.
