Job description

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to join the Resilience Water team in Syracuse, NY. This role focuses on protecting natural environments and water resources while addressing the challenges posed by climate change and urbanization. The engineer will lead projects related to water and wastewater evaluations, design, and construction. The position involves managing staff, working directly with clients, and engaging in business development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or a related field of study
  • 10 years of progressively responsible experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in New York State
  • Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or an MBA is preferred
  • 15 years of progressively responsible experience is preferred
  • Secondary certification such as W/WW Operators License, BCEE, PMP, LEED, or ENV SP is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Lead Technical Designer, Task Manager, and/or Project Manager on projects in Upstate NY.
  • Develop municipal water and wastewater projects, ensuring successful execution and delivery.
  • Prepare comprehensive construction packages for water/wastewater systems.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, and delivery schedules.
  • Perform detailed engineering calculations and analyses using technical design software.
  • Engage in marketing and business development activities for the water/wastewater market.
  • Coordinate project execution activities across disciplines.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
