Job description
The Assistant Resident Engineer/Senior Office Engineer will join Arcadis' Water Division as part of the construction management team on a NYCDEP project in Yonkers, NY. This role requires a self-motivated individual with 10 years of experience in municipal infrastructure and construction management. The position focuses on overseeing day-to-day construction activities and ensuring compliance with safety and project standards. The successful candidate will work closely with the Construction Manager and Resident Engineer to manage inspection staff and maintain effective communication with various stakeholders.
Requirements
- 10 years of experience in construction management or related field.
- Prior experience as an Office Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer for NYC projects.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing a safe and healthful workplace.
- Professional Engineer - New York (active) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day construction oversight and Assistant Resident Engineering efforts on a major NYCDEP infrastructure upgrade contract.
- Assist the Construction Manager and/or Resident Engineer in managing the inspection staff and delivering daily inspector reports.
- Act as a liaison to design staff and respond to Contractors’ RFI's and review shop drawings.
- Supervise ARCADIS staff, including developing Professional Development plans and mentoring.
- Assist in managing overall site safety and permit condition compliance.
