Job description
Arcadis is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to join their Construction Management team, focusing on construction projects in the NYC and Lower Hudson Valley Region. The role involves utilizing technical knowledge of municipal infrastructure and water facilities to manage capital improvement projects. The Senior Resident Engineer will oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while acting as a liaison between design staff and contractors. This position is crucial for delivering sustainable solutions and improving quality of life.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent work experience.
- 10 years of experience as a Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Professional Engineer license in New York.
- Prior experience supporting New York Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) projects.
- Proficiency with MS Project and the MS Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day construction oversight and Resident Engineering Inspection efforts.
- Act as a liaison to design staff for responses to contractor RFI's and review of shop drawings.
- Review construction plans, specifications, and project changes for constructability and practicality.
- Manage the Construction Management field office staff responsible for record keeping and processing of periodic payments.
- Ensure delivery of daily inspection reports in accordance with client requirements.
- Monitor contractor performance, schedule compliance, and overall responsiveness.
- Manage the contractor payment process and recommend adjustments based on work completed.
