The Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE) role at Amazon involves working in a dynamic environment to support the operations of existing data centers in the northern Virginia region. • 5+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or 5 years of relevant discipline work experience
• High technical competency in mechanical, electrical, or control systems utilized in critical infrastructures
• Ability to understand design concepts by reviewing mechanical or electrical design documentation
• Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/components
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint or similar tools
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in high-stress environments

• Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure
• Review as-built documents and equipment submittals for accuracy
• Lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT) when applicable and manage third-party commissioning vendors
• Audit Cx vendors' activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
• Report commissioning progress and metrics to the Regional Commissioning Manager
• Coordinate site activities in operational data centers and prioritize tasks
• Communicate lessons learned to peers and participate in initiatives for program improvement
