Job description

The Senior Network Development Engineer role at AWS Networking involves end-to-end ownership of IP networks for public sector regions. The team focuses on designing, engineering, implementing, and operating next-generation networks while ensuring reliability and sustainability. Candidates will work in a collaborative environment with diverse teams to drive automation and operational excellence. Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl.
  • Experience in IP networking technologies such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, TCP, SLB, and packet forwarding architectures.
  • Bachelor's degree in Networking, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and evolution of highly available hyper-scale networks.
  • Define and influence strategy within and outside the team.
  • Lead project teams to deliver impactful benefits to customers.
  • Work closely with network engineers and software developers to automate network deployment and operations.
  • Drive operational excellence projects to improve network performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
