Job description

The AWS RAPP ADC team is seeking highly motivated engineers to implement and operate innovative cloud computing solutions for U.S. Government agencies. This role focuses on ensuring operational excellence and troubleshooting complex system operations while utilizing the latest cloud technologies. Engineers will work within a diverse team to manage and monitor systems, build software solutions, and automate processes. The position requires a strong understanding of Linux, networking, and cloud services, along with a commitment to providing the best customer experience.

Requirements

  • The candidate must be a US Citizen and possess an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
  • A minimum of 2 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals including networking, storage, and operating systems.
  • Experience with a scripting language such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, Perl, or Ruby.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Route 53 and Perimeter Protection services maintain a 100% uptime SLA.
  • Deploy software and troubleshoot software failures to minimize human involvement through automation.
  • Manage and monitor systems in air-gapped regions.
  • Build software-based solutions to improve system management and monitoring.
  • Identify and investigate systemic patterns when implementations are not highly available or have defects.
  • Resolve, mitigate, or escalate operational concerns in a timely manner.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
