The AWS Hardware Engineering team is seeking experienced Hardware Design Engineers to lead the integration and operations of next-generation storage solutions for cloud systems. This role involves collaborating with software engineers to optimize SSD performance and health at scale. The team focuses on delivering high-quality server systems and components that support AWS's massive infrastructure. Candidates will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that values innovation and operational excellence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hardware design and validation experience with components, subsystems, and systems.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience with root-cause analysis, debugging, and resolution of issues on storage systems in a Linux environment.
- Proficient coding, scripting, and debugging abilities in a Linux environment.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
- Expertise in server technologies such as thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity.
- Experience in developing technical documentation such as functional specifications and design verification plans.
Responsibilities
- Lead the integration and delivery of SSD from OEM suppliers.
- Support the rollout of new drives for new and existing platforms.
- Design and build infrastructure to operate storage platforms at massive scale.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers to drive operational excellence.
- Build software services for optimizing SSD performance and health at scale.
