Job description

The Embedded Software Development Engineer will be responsible for building and owning server-related firmware within the AWS Hardware Engineering team. This team focuses on creating innovative, scalable solutions for real-world data center infrastructure problems. The role involves collaborating with a diverse group of engineers to drive system innovation and ensure operational excellence. The engineer will have the opportunity to work on challenging technology problems that fuse software, hardware, and the cloud.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and testing
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Server Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) Software.
  • Engage in scripting language development for automation and efficiency.
  • Provide support for Data Center Operations.
  • Develop Linux drivers to enhance system functionality.
  • Collaborate with a team of software developers to create innovative solutions.
