The System Development Engineer role within the Platform Engineering and Emerging Technologies (PEET) team focuses on designing, deploying, monitoring, and automating infrastructure for the Wickr service. This position involves working with the U.S. Government to implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve complex technical problems. Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance and be adaptable to work on large distributed systems. The role emphasizes collaboration and a commitment to maintaining a resilient platform for both customer and team workloads.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 1+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals including networking, storage, and operating systems
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- Experience with Linux/Unix
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, monitor, and automate infrastructure, tools, and systems for a highly-available platform.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities to ensure system fault tolerance and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with team members to address root causes of system alerts.
- Support U.S. Government agencies in implementing cloud computing solutions.
