As a Senior Computer Aided Design (CAD) Engineer at Amazon Lab126, you will be part of an advanced ASIC development team focused on creating semiconductor designs for new Amazon devices. You will collaborate with various teams including Design, Verification, and Physical Design to enhance ASIC development infrastructure. Your role will involve deploying EDA tools, developing automation processes, and troubleshooting tool issues. The ultimate goal is to improve the efficiency of chip design engineers through seamless tool flows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years building and supporting CAD infrastructure for ASIC development
  • Ability to write and understand Verilog and SystemVerilog
  • Knowledge of Python and Embedded C programming
  • Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipeline implementation

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain ASIC development flows spanning RTL-to-GDSII.
  • Deploy and configure EDA tools from vendors across compute infrastructure.
  • Develop automation and CI/CD/regression to streamline design tasks.
  • Troubleshoot tool issues and work with vendors to resolve bugs.
  • Create and maintain documentation for tool usage and best practices.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
