Job description

As an IT Support Engineer I at Amazon, you will leverage your technical skills to implement solutions and provide high-quality support for various IT systems. This role is crucial in ensuring the availability of infrastructure and computing systems during production hours. You will work closely with management and staff to enhance IT solutions and manage local technical projects. The position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • 2+ years of networking experience including DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP
  • 2+ years of PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation experience
  • 2+ years of troubleshooting experience in a multi-user high availability environment
  • 1+ years of IT client, server, and network service delivery experience
  • 2+ years of supporting and maintaining a corporate network environment experience
  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Redhat), Microsoft hardware installation, AWS, or other industry relevant certifications
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid Driver License
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science or equivalent
  • Experience in IT client, server, and network service delivery

Responsibilities

  • Perform network engineering and troubleshooting, data cabling, and systems administration in various software and hardware environments.
  • Ensure infrastructure networking and computing systems remain available during production hours.
  • Interact with management and staff to provide analytical and technical assistance for continuous improvement of IT solutions.
  • Manage local technical projects effectively.
  • Maintain or create policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Identify root causes of operational issues and process inefficiencies.
  • Move up to 49lbs and stand or walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
  • Support customers from multiple buildings in the area, as well as remote customers.
  • Travel within your local or regional area to support customers.
