Job description

This role is for a software engineer in the Compiler team for AWS Neuron, focusing on building the next generation Neuron compiler to optimize ML models for AWS Inferentia and Trainium. Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience writing production grade code in object-oriented languages such as C++ or Java
  • Experience in compiler design for CPU, GPU, Vector engines, or ML-accelerators
  • Experience with OpenSource compiler toolsets like LLVM or MLIR
  • Experience with technologies such as PyTorch, OpenXLA, StableHLO, JAX, or TVM

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain innovative software solutions for the Neuron compiler.
  • Solve compiler optimization problems to achieve optimum performance for various ML model families.
  • Collaborate with chip architects, runtime engineers, and ML applications teams to deploy ML models on AWS accelerators.
  • Create compiler optimization and verification passes and implement tools to analyze numerical errors.
  • Participate in design discussions and code reviews, communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
