The Network Development Engineer role at AWS focuses on deploying and sustaining network infrastructure for the Internet Edge team, which is responsible for external connectivity for the global AWS network. This position involves collaborating with various teams to ensure efficient internet traffic flow and implementing automation for network scaling. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, computer science, or a related quantitative field.
- Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols.
- Experience with major internet routing protocols, specifically BGP and OSPF.
- Experience in a Linux/Unix environment.
- 1+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols.
- 1+ years of experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP.
- Experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos.
Responsibilities
- Deploy network infrastructure across all network fabrics supporting various AWS services.
- Scale and automate the network across multiple global datacenters.
- Drive scaling of current network designs to meet customer demand.
- Create simple, repetitive deployment processes to increase velocity and quality.
- Collaborate with internal customers on designs and solutions from concept to production.
- Create and update network standards to ensure compliance during deployment.
- Implement changes on the network as required.
- Work closely with automation teams to define scaling tools.
