Job description

The Quality Control Engineer (QCE) is a key position within AWS Data Center Capacity Delivery’s Integrated Project Quality program. This role focuses on overseeing quality assurance and control processes throughout data center construction projects, ensuring compliance with AWS's high standards. The QCE will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to deliver exceptional quality, safety, and performance. The position also emphasizes continuous improvement and knowledge transfer to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
  • 4+ years of commissioning experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit and other BIM software for MEP systems.
  • Professional Engineer License.
  • Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of QAQC processes throughout data center construction projects.
  • Review design documents and provide feedback on constructability and quality assurance measures.
  • Develop and maintain quality control plans and inspection checklists.
  • Conduct onsite QAQC inspections to ensure compliance with AWS standards.
  • Coordinate with third-party Quality Control Agents to ensure comprehensive QAQC.
  • Facilitate regular QC meetings with stakeholders to address quality-related issues.
  • Monitor and report on quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and document quality defects or non-conformances for timely resolution.
  • Compile and deliver comprehensive quality control turnover packages for each project phase.
  • Conduct final quality reviews and walkthroughs with key stakeholders prior to project handover.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer to end customers on QAQC processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing quality data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and AWS-specific quality standards.
