This role is part of the AWS Controls Team, focusing on innovating, deploying, optimizing, and maintaining automation systems within AWS data centers. The team comprises diverse experts in software, hardware, and network engineering, working collaboratively to ensure safety and security while providing efficient capacity for customers. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction management, mechanical, electrical, or technology, and will be responsible for aligning building controls with business objectives. This position requires a valid driver's license and involves significant travel within Texas.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of general contractor and vendor management work associated with construction and project execution experience.
- 5+ years of experience with industrial controls in critical environments such as data centers or pharmaceuticals.
- Experience designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting, or servicing HVAC Controls or Electrical SCADA systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering documentation, electrical and mechanical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Travel 35 - 50%, primarily within Texas.
- Manage the scope of Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) for AWS data center construction.
- Ensure data center controls are deployed in accordance with the scope of work and specifications.
- Review and provide feedback on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings.
- Develop controls bill of material (BOM).
- Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and navigate difficult situations.
- Work under tight project timelines.
- Financially manage both construction and service contracts.
- Act in a project sponsor or lead capacity.
- Provide vendor management and develop scope of work for site improvement projects.
