The Software Development Engineer role at Annapurna Labs focuses on building and operating infrastructure that accelerates silicon development. The position involves collaborating with chip design teams to enhance their workflows and reduce manual tasks through automation. The engineer will work with high-performance computing and cloud infrastructure, contributing to the development of custom silicon for AWS. This is an opportunity to work alongside top engineers in a dynamic environment that fosters innovation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems
  • Experience programming with at least one modern programming language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, or C#
  • 3+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, and operating systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience utilizing AWS cloud solutions in a DevOps environment with infrastructure as code
  • Experience with Linux/Unix systems
  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
  • Familiarity with semiconductor development workflows or electronic design automation environments
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build processes

Responsibilities

  • Partner with silicon design, verification, emulation, and software teams to understand their development workflows and pain points.
  • Build tooling and automation that eliminates manual toil and reduces time-to-results.
  • Design, implement, and operate cloud infrastructure and high-performance computing clusters using schedulers like Slurm.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure-as-code and service deployments.
  • Develop monitoring, diagnostics, and alerting systems that provide actionable insights on efficiency and reliability.
  • Establish incident response processes and documentation to enable operational excellence.
  • Proactively anticipate system failures and implement preventive measures to improve system resilience.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
