Job description

The Sr. Innovation Engineer at Amazon Logistics will lead the integration of new automation technologies into the North America Delivery Station Network. This role is part of the WW Amazon Logistics Innovation Engineering team, focusing on defining, testing, and implementing robotics and automation systems. The successful candidate will work closely with various teams to enhance operational efficiency and improve performance through innovative solutions. Requirements

  • 5+ years of design and innovation, research and development work experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a foreign equivalent
  • Experience in management of engineering design projects
  • Experience using business or technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
  • Knowledge of system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, and statistical analysis
  • Experience with complex automated material handling equipment and high-speed manufacturing
  • Experience with design-in-safety

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Product teams and WW Engineering to implement new automation technologies in the Delivery Stations network.
  • Identify process paths to automate based on factors such as labor, cost, safety, and performance.
  • Author business cases to introduce automation to improve performance in the Delivery Stations network.
  • Define pilot criteria and success metrics to validate proof of concept and performance targets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide technical documentation for new automation systems.
  • Support a lessons learned program for new robotics and automation systems.
  • Work with design and controls teams to detail integration plans for material handling equipment automation.
  • Partner with the simulation team to validate new ideas and concepts for automating manual processes.
  • Represent AMZL in cross-functional teams to integrate future technologies into the Delivery Station ecosystem.
  • Support the development and implementation of service and maintenance concepts for AMZL Field teams.
