As a Senior Mechanical and Systems Engineer at Google Cloud, you will lead projects focused on designing and evaluating IT/data center thermal systems. You will be responsible for identifying product requirements and contributing to research and project planning, ensuring that the architecture scales with Google's growth. The role involves working with cross-functional teams and external partners to optimize thermal management solutions. Your work will significantly impact the design and efficiency of Google's computing infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in advanced thermal management and product design/development in thermal systems.
- 5 years of experience in modeling analyses, numerical modeling including Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools, and experimental characterization.
- Experience in leading project teams related to thermal management technology and product development.
Responsibilities
- Lead the qualification of thermal products from concept design through production and deployment.
- Contribute to overall system architecture from chip to chiller, optimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- Develop holistic thermal/mechanical/system designs from package to data center level.
- Design thermal management hardware including material selection, heat sinks, and cooling systems.
- Establish specifications and test procedures to ensure reliability and performance of electronic equipment.
