Amazon's Event Network team is seeking Network Engineers to enhance and automate their advanced event networks. The role involves deploying network infrastructure for major events, optimizing operational tasks, and developing innovative solutions to improve the networking experience. The team collaborates closely with various stakeholders to ensure high standards of security and service delivery. Candidates should be autonomous and possess strong communication and project management skills.
Requirements
- 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
- 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
- Experience with IP networking fundamentals and TCP/IP, UDP, DNS & DHCP
- Experience in Java/Perl/Python based automation
- 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- Experience in oral and written communication in English
- Knowledge of core internet technologies, including DHCP, DNS, mail transport, TCP/IP, and network file systems
- Experience with routers, switches, wireless controllers and firewall vendor platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Arista, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for deploying network infrastructure for all events.
- Deploy, scale and automate the network.
- Identify opportunities and develop tooling to increase scaling velocity and quality.
- Contribute software development to existing and new services.
- Create simple, repeatable processes and improve upon existing processes.
- Work closely with internal customers on designs and solutions, bringing those from concept to production.
- Create and update network standards and ensure deployment to these standards.
- Work closely with teams in defining platforms and frameworks for scaling.
