As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers, ensuring they meet customer needs while maintaining high standards for safety and security. You will collaborate with diverse teams, including software, hardware, and network engineers, to develop innovative solutions and improve data center operations. This role involves both office and field work, allowing you to engage directly with projects that enhance capacity and efficiency. You will also lead engineering audits and support new construction projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Valid and active driver's license
- Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems
- Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments while meeting deadlines
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Experience with programming/scripting languages such as Batch, VB, PowerShell, Java, C#, Chef, Perl, Ruby, or PHP
- Experience using a variety of web-based and other software tools for calculation and data processing
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for site and equipment failures.
- Support operational issues with ad-hoc training and complex operating procedure reviews.
- Own the conceptual design for data center upgrades and design solutions.
- Interface with internal teams to promote standards for consistency and reliability.
- Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers.
- Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions.
- Initiate and lead engineering audits, producing reports with risks and recommendations.
- Act as resident engineer during new construction projects, supporting commissioning and turnover.
