Job description

The Business Intelligence Engineer role at Amazon Logistics focuses on enhancing performance measurement and management in last mile delivery. The successful candidate will lead a team to build analysis and visualization tools that support the logistics business. This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work with technical teams to optimize operations. The team aims to provide actionable insights and improve the efficiency of the package delivery network.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab.
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience in Python.
  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
  • Experience in data mining and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal stakeholders across multiple teams to gather requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and Software Development Engineers to prioritize and define AMZL data and BI development needs.
  • Work with in-house scientists and logistics teams to identify new BI capabilities and projects.
  • Lead and develop a team of Business Intelligence Engineers and Business Analysts.
  • Conduct deep dive investigations into operations execution and business problems, identifying opportunities and leading implementation.
  • Analyze and visualize large scale geo-spatial logistics and transaction data to articulate user behavior or delivery process problems.
  • Serve as a liaison between the WW Planning and Analytics team and the operations business teams to provide actionable insights.
  • Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and ongoing reporting.
