Job description
As an IT Support Engineer I at Amazon, you will leverage your technical skills to provide high-quality support for computer hardware, operating systems, and enterprise application software. You will be part of the Operations Technology Solutions team, which is essential for maintaining the speed and accuracy of Amazon's operations. Your role will involve troubleshooting and implementing technical solutions across various sites. You will also interact with management and staff to enhance IT solutions and ensure infrastructure availability.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent diploma
- 2+ years of professional or military experience
- 2+ years of troubleshooting in a multi-user high availability environment experience
- 2+ years of networking experience including DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP
- 2+ years of PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation experience
- 1+ years of IT client, server, and network service delivery experience
- Experience in one or more IT related fields including networking, Linux administration, Microsoft administration, and/or Cisco network configuration and management
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance
- Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science or equivalent
- CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Redhat), Microsoft hardware (installation), AWS, or other industry relevant certifications
- Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance
- Experience conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences
- Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments while maintaining commitment to deadlines
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision or 2+ years of Amazon experience
- Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation
Responsibilities
- Perform network engineering and troubleshooting, data cabling, and systems administration in various software and hardware environments.
- Ensure infrastructure networking and computing systems remain available during production hours.
- Interact with management and staff to provide analytical and technical assistance for continuous improvement of IT solutions.
- Manage local technical projects.
- Maintain or create policies, procedures, and processes.
- Identify root causes of operational issues and process inefficiencies.
- Move up to 49lbs and stand or walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
- Support customers from multiple buildings in the area as well as remote customers.
- Travel within your local or regional area to support customers.
