Job description
The Operations Engineering Lead at Google will oversee a team of technical experts focused on engineering aspects that impact site operations. This role involves managing complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects and ensuring efficient growth and operation of Google's data center fleet. The lead will also engage with cross-functional partners and support onsite operations during technical escalations. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership to drive improvements in operational efficiency and reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or other engineering fields, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in mission-critical infrastructure, industrial automation, or controls engineering.
- 10 years of experience managing a team of technical engineers and program managers.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of technical experts engaging with Operations and cross-functional partners.
- Support onsite operations as an escalation point for event response.
- Design control rooms and oversee cyber security aspects associated with control systems.
- Evaluate maintenance practices for improved efficiency using condition-based maintenance evaluations.
- Oversee the deployment of remote monitoring capabilities.
