Job description

The Customer Engineering Manager III for Looker at Google Cloud will lead a team of subject matter experts to provide technical and solution advice to customers. This role focuses on fostering a culture of technical ownership and understanding the architecture and delivery across the Google Cloud portfolio. The manager will work closely with sales to define strategies and plans to drive new workloads and consumption. This position is crucial for helping customers accelerate their cloud transformation and realize value from their investments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.
  • Experience with technical conversations, demos, prototyping, or workshops with customers.
  • Leadership experience in data analytic teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of customer engineers to deliver successful cloud transformation outcomes.
  • Foster customer partnerships and provide thought leadership related to cloud solutions.
  • Partner with sales to define technical go-to-market strategies and delivery plans.
  • Balance technical leadership with operational excellence in workload and opportunity review meetings.
  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities and resolve technical blockers.
