Job description
The Security Engineer III, Security Response role at Google focuses on creating and maintaining a secure operating environment for users and developers. As part of the Security team, you will protect network boundaries and monitor systems for attacks while collaborating with software engineers to identify security vulnerabilities. The position involves being part of a global on-call response team, utilizing your expertise in Digital Forensics and Incident Response to handle escalations. You will also lead teams in emergency situations to effectively manage and resolve security incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols.
- 2 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
- 2 years of experience with incident or emergency response coordination.
Responsibilities
- Triage, assess, coordinate, and drive resolution on a range of incidents.
- Perform technical analysis of risks and emergent issues.
- Analyze causes to identify trends and systematic issues.
- Develop excellence in Incident Management through tools and infrastructure.
- Manage relationships across the company, including legal, engineering, and communications.
