Job description

This role involves working with the Relational Database Service (RDS) for PostgreSQL as part of the Database Engineering Team. The team focuses on building, improving, and managing PostgreSQL as a fully managed database service. You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and customers to enhance the service and drive feature improvements. The position emphasizes mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and a supportive environment for career growth.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience with PostgreSQL
  • At least 5 years operating PostgreSQL systems
  • Experience working with customers on how to best use PostgreSQL
  • Experience in Postgres or a passion for delivering exceptional service

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with customers to understand their challenges and solve issues during critical escalations.
  • Act as the 'voice of the customer' to bring learnings to the engineering process.
  • Drive feature enhancements and permanently resolve the root causes of issues.
  • Interact with the open-source community via forums, conferences, and code submissions.
  • Design and code solutions to help drive efficiencies in software architecture.
