Job description
The Product Design Engineer for Pixel Hardware at Google will be part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team focused on creating innovative consumer electronics. The engineer will collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure successful manufacturing and assembly of components. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, product design, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience designing mechanical components such as plastic or metal parts, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit boards, or flexes.
- 3 years of experience using computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as 3D MCAD, NX, Creo, or Solidworks.
Responsibilities
- Design a subsystem or multiple individual parts from concept to production.
- Collaborate with suppliers of subsystems or individual parts throughout the design and manufacturing process.
- Identify the root cause of design, manufacturing, or reliability issues and develop corrective actions.
- Balance design considerations such as functionality, sustainability, reliability, human factors, manufacturability, and aesthetics.
