Job description

The Senior Hardware Validation Engineer at Google Cloud Platform will contribute to medium-scale design and validation projects with guidance from managers. This role involves implementing, testing, and maintaining multiple subsystems while supporting new product engineering in Google's hardware R&D labs. The engineer will work on designing and building complex system-level testbeds and collaborate with various teams to enhance hardware designs. The position is part of a team that empowers Google customers with advanced AI and infrastructure capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working in a hardware technical environment.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with Linux, networking, network troubleshooting, failure diagnosis, and debugging/troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Help design and build complex system-level testbeds and maintain lab space, tools, and infrastructure.
  • Work with teams to develop software and hardware systems and create methodologies and tools to support team members.
  • Coordinate the interactions between labs and engineering.
  • Anticipate and resolve problems by applying knowledge and skills, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Generate implementation plans and provide technical expertise and guidance during deployment activities.
