Job description
The Data Center Plant Engineer, Mechanical role at Google involves designing and operating sophisticated mechanical and HVAC systems within data centers. This position requires collaboration with senior technicians and contractors to inspect, maintain, and repair various systems. Requirements
- An Associate's degree, trade school certification, or equivalent practical experience in a related technical field.
- Nine years of experience in HVAC, electrical, controls, water chemistry, generators, mechanical, or similar technical domains.
- The ability to lift and move 50 lbs of equipment and work on platforms, ladders, and under raised floors.
Responsibilities
- Test, validate, improve, and certify new processes and procedures for equipment operation in the data center.
- Perform compliance activities for data centers and analyze compliance results globally.
- Monitor data center systems operations and control site activities to minimize risk.
- Ensure adherence to facility, maintenance, and standard programs globally while driving improvements.
- Develop strategies to minimize operational costs and improve efficiency at the site.
