The Product Engineer for Servers and Storage Systems at Google will be part of the Manufacturing Operations team, which is responsible for delivering state-of-the-art physical infrastructure. This role involves evaluating product designs and creating processes, tools, and procedures to ensure manufacturing capabilities meet Google's needs. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to ensure that server and storage designs are optimized for production. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality and reliability of Google's computing infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in electrical devices, fabrication processes, test, design for manufacturing, quality, or reliability engineering.
- Experience working with Original Device Manufacturers (ODMs), Contract Manufacturers (CMs), and suppliers to lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Lead Design for Manufacturing efforts across teams to ensure server/storage designs, process, test, and quality standards are enhanced for production.
- Lead and guide subject matter experts to ensure the product meets specifications.
- Ensure manufacturing sites are prepared for product builds ahead of time and provide on-site support for defect correction post build.
- Work with the Product Quality Engineer to establish product quality and reliability goals and validate product qualification plans.
- Coordinate the release of New Product Introduction (NPI) Bills of materials (BOMs) into the Product Data Management (PDM) system.
