Job description

The Audio Experience and Innovation Engineer role at Google focuses on defining and delivering high-quality audio experiences across the Pixel ecosystem, including Phones, Hearables, and Wearables. The team is responsible for the overall audio system architecture, from concept to launch, driving innovative audio roadmaps and ensuring performance and efficiency. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Hardware, Software, and Product Management, to bridge the gap between hardware and software domains. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and tackle complex audio challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field.
  • 4 years of experience in audio systems architecture, design, or development.
  • 1 year of experience with MATLAB or Simulink.
  • Experience in Large Language Models, Natural Language Processing, Automatic Speech Recognition, Text-to-Speech, or ML/AI using C, C++, or Python.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the definition of the end-to-end system audio architecture for new Pixel products and features.
  • Execute experiments including the design, implementation, analysis, and communication of results.
  • Translate product concepts and user experience goals into scalable technical specifications.
  • Architect and drive solutions that span across hardware and software boundaries.
  • Drive the resolution of complex system-level trade-offs and challenges related to audio experience delivery.
