Job description
As an RF Systems Engineer at Lab126, you will collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team to design and integrate innovative wireless technologies for consumer products. Your role will involve working closely with internal teams and external partners to drive product definition and execution. You will focus on wireless design, including technologies such as LTE, GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth. The position requires a strong background in RF design and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in RF design
- Experience in wireless system design and architecture, system integration, test, debugging and desense analysis
- Experience with RF lab equipment including VNA, power meters, spectrum analyzers, and vector signal generators
- Experience with RF and EM simulation software
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with project management of technical projects
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of the set-up and operation of complex RF test equipment required for RF design validation
- Familiarity with current and upcoming RF standards in WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS
Responsibilities
- Work within a project team and take responsibility for the WiFi and Bluetooth implementation
- Meet with vendors and technology suppliers to select components
- Simulate, implement, validate, and optimize RF circuits including schematic capture and PCB layout
- Characterize and debug desense and EMI issues to meet requirements
- Perform multi-radio coexistence mitigation including RF link budget planning and issue debugging
- Conduct simulations for RF design and desense mitigation using 3D EM and circuit level simulations
- Guide the product through development, compliance testing, operator testing, ramp up, and sustaining
- Support radiated manufacturing test and address defects in the factory
- Collaborate with software, mechanical engineering, baseband, and compliance teams
- Develop functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
