Job description
This role is for a Software Development Engineer on the In-Memory Computing Platform team at AWS, focusing on building a high-performance in-memory distributed data storage platform. The team is responsible for developing systems that enable low-latency and high-throughput applications for AWS customers. Engineers will work on large-scale distributed systems, primarily using Java and C/C++. The team values collaboration, technical depth, and mentorship, aiming to push the boundaries of NoSQL systems.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
Responsibilities
- Design and build the next-generation in-memory NoSQL database platform.
- Lead software development of large-scale distributed in-memory storage systems.
- Develop and operate HTTP/REST services and event-driven architectures.
- Build and improve real-time failure detection and auto-remediation systems.
- Drive horizontal and vertical scaling capabilities and fault tolerance mechanisms.
- Contribute to disaster recovery and prevention strategies.
- Mentor and grow junior engineers on the team.
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
