Job description
The Nondestructive Testing Engineer at Amazon will serve as a technical resource within data centers, focusing on designing and deploying innovative solutions to operational challenges. This role requires both independent work and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to improve various systems. The engineer will oversee medium-sized projects from conception to completion while promoting a culture of safety and security. Candidates with data center experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
- 1+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends
- 2+ years of data center engineering experience
- Technical (Military Trade School) training
- Associate or higher education in a related field
Responsibilities
- Act as a Safety Ambassador responsible for promoting a safe working environment.
- Utilize internal CMMS to schedule and oversee Nondestructive Testing preventative maintenance.
- Act as an escalation point for safety, security, and facilities-related issues.
- Deploy and support existing and new standard practices for Nondestructive Testing.
- Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Interact with engineers, technicians, project managers, and management daily.
- Work with engineers to develop solutions to complex problems while monitoring timelines and costs.
- Oversee projects and provide solutions for root causes of facility issues.
