Job description
The Commissioning Engineer at AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for overseeing the design review and commissioning of critical infrastructure for new construction and special projects. This role involves collaboration with vendors, contractors, and various teams to ensure compliance with safety practices and industry standards. The engineer will work within a diverse team to deliver high-quality results while managing multiple projects and tight schedules. The position requires a proactive approach to communication and reporting on project statuses and improvements.
Requirements
- 4+ years of commissioning experience
- 5+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer License
- Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate multi-discipline division of work related to design review and commissioning of Amazon critical infrastructure.
- Support vendors, contractors, and other teams involved in the construction and commissioning of various systems.
- Develop and review electrical and mechanical component and integrated systems testing along with other commissioning documents.
- Ensure that all commissioning procedures follow the appropriate safety practices and policies.
- Audit commissioning activities continuously to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
- Communicate proactively with the ACx Regional Manager and the ACx team regarding test documents.
- Provide comprehensive weekly reporting of the status of all ongoing projects, lessons learned, and program improvements.
