The Mechanical Engineer will design automated packaging, sortation, and labeling platforms to enhance delivery efficiency for Amazon customers. This role involves technical ownership of automation systems and collaboration with Electrical and Controls teams to manufacture in-house packaging machinery. The engineer will also manage engineering processes and contribute to the definition of workflows within the PLM environment. The team operates in a collaborative environment, focusing on the entire product development lifecycle from concept to production.

• BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• 8+ years of design experience for industrial automation
• Proficiency in 3D design and simulation software including Ansys, Creo, Catia, and Solidworks
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
• Hands-on experience with Teamcenter or similar PLM systems
• GD&T and manufacturing process knowledge
• Understanding of packaging machinery safety standards
• Operations experience in a manufacturing environment
• Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to design and execute packaging machinery and automation projects
• Lead the mechanical design workstreams encompassing core system evolution and structural member design
• Deliver engineering workstreams including drive system modeling and load calculations
• Execute the detailed design evolution of modules and subsystems for material specifications
• Partner with Electrical Engineering to ensure project documentation is complete and scalable
• Support the project team in the safety certification of the project/platform
• Serve as a subject matter expert for PLM processes within Teamcenter
• Influence and standardize engineering processes across the broader organization
