Job description
As a Data Center Project Engineer at AWS, you will be part of a diverse team focused on constructing innovative and energy-efficient data centers. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure high-quality delivery of construction projects. You will be responsible for communication and coordination among contractors and stakeholders, while also managing project documentation and tracking systems. This position offers an opportunity to work on complex electrical and mechanical systems in a dynamic environment.
Requirements
- 3+ years of vendor management experience
- 4+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment experience
- 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in construction or project management
- Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License
- Operating engineering license such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Establish communication and coordination across a data center region’s general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain a tracking system for design changes, RFIs, and change orders.
- Request and review MOPs for proper detail, necessity, and risk.
- On-board new vendors for badging and orientation.
- Update project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents.
- Monitor delivery of owner furnished material to site.
- Compile and store construction data from vendors.
- Manage various checklists including substantial completion checks, safety, and quality.
