Job description

The role involves designing, developing, and optimizing the cellular telephony framework and services layer on Android-based devices. The team focuses on delivering reliable voice, data, messaging, and connectivity experiences across various devices. Collaboration with product management and cross-functional teams is essential to translate customer experience goals into technical designs. The position requires ownership of critical architectural decisions and the resolution of complex technical issues.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of Android development experience
  • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience solving problems with technology in the Telecommunications industry

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize the cellular telephony framework and services layer on Android-based devices.
  • Architect and implement core telephony framework components including calling, data connectivity, messaging, and advanced features.
  • Optimize telephony stack performance for call setup latency, network registration, and power efficiency.
  • Partner with product management to translate customer experience goals into technical designs and implementation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with modem/baseband, OS platform, QA/certification, and cloud services teams.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews, taking ownership of critical architectural decisions.
