Job description

The Manufacturing Test Engineer at eero is responsible for the manufacturing test infrastructure for all hardware products, overseeing the process from early prototype builds to sustaining production and reverse logistics. This role requires a passion for continuous process improvement to enhance test coverage and reduce cycle time. The team is small but plays a crucial role in ensuring product quality and customer satisfaction. As part of a cross-functional team, the engineer will collaborate with manufacturing partners and contribute to the development of innovative connectivity solutions.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics
  • 3+ years of software programming experience in a Linux environment for machine controllers
  • Experience programming in Python
  • Experience with Linux, git, and standard UNIX command-line tools
  • Demonstrated experience in development or maintenance of manufacturing test or test fixtures
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing of consumer electronics with wireless connectivity

Responsibilities

  • Own the factory test line at FATP and develop a software ecosystem for physical test controllers and cloud infrastructure.
  • Define modular test strategies and analyze new product testability to support the new product introduction process.
  • Develop, qualify, and execute RF system testing, board level calibration, and power testing.
  • Automate various processes using techniques such as automated optical inspection and robotics automation.
  • Compile and analyze production test data using automated and visual big data analysis techniques.
  • Drive factory test quality improvements and monitor functional test yield.
  • Guide the design of hardware test fixtures to ensure alignment with cost, scale, and schedule.
  • Travel to Asia to deliver test solutions to manufacturing partners and resolve issues.
  • Introduce test processes and monitor functional test yield to ensure smooth production.
  • Expand the current Python test software code base for next generation products.
  • Provide feedback to hardware and software development teams for efficient manufacturing.
  • Lead DOEs to root-cause test-station related failures.
  • Communicate project status updates to stakeholders, including team members and executives.
