Job description

The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer role at AWS involves managing infrastructure equipment quality by interfacing with engineering teams, procurement, and vendors. This position is critical in ensuring the highest level of quality and support from suppliers throughout the equipment lifecycle. The role requires collaboration across various teams to deliver robust quality systems while driving improvements and resolving quality issues. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • 8+ years in a quality management function with direct interaction with suppliers
  • 8+ years in Electrical, Mechanical Product manufacturing, and supplier quality
  • Experience with data center operations and infrastructure equipment
  • Ability to manage multiple qualification activities and development schedules

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Supplier Quality roadmap for complex electrical and mechanical infrastructure equipment.
  • Manage complete equipment lifecycle quality by working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Improve equipment quality by performing thorough on-site audits to ensure compliance with AWS Quality and product specifications.
  • Drive Supplier Quality Improvement Programs and track supplier performance against key performance indicators.
  • Develop critical to quality parameters and perform inspections and functional testing for complex equipment.
  • Review historical failures and design changes to update equipment technical specifications.
  • Lead root cause analysis for complex equipment and critical components in collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Evaluate and validate root cause analysis reports using critical thinking and quality principles.
  • Develop new product and supplier qualification plans in terms of quality.
  • Perform data analysis on failures and create technical reports to drive improvements at supplier factories.
  • Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions.
  • Demonstrate a can-do attitude and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
